# Transaction Fees

Every transaction on Opera requires a fee, paid in FTM (Opera's native token), to prevent spam attacks and compensate validators for processing transactions.

## Rewards Distribution

The current distribution of transaction fees is:

* 5% burned
* 10% to the [Ecosystem Vault](https://vault.fantom.network/)
* 15% to [Gas Monetization](/funding/gas-monetization.md)
* 70% to validators
